About the Author

Dr Lt Col Ravikumar Arunachalam, MS, Dip. NB, DLO RCS, FRCS (Glasgow), FAMS, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Medical and Health Sciences of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tamil Nadu, is a well-known Academician, ENT Surgeon, and passionate teacher. He was responsible for initiation of Cochlear Implant Program in Armed Forces Medical College in 1997 and Army Hospital (Research and Referral), Delhi, in 2001. As Head of Department of ENT, he established the Voice Lab, “state-of-the-art” Temporal Bone Dissection Lab in Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute. His awards include Col. Sangham Lal Oration Award and Emeritus Professor by National Academy of Medical Sciences; IMA National President's Excellence Award; and Lifetime Achievement Award by Rotary Club, Chennai.; Dr Major Prasanna Kumar Saravanam, DLO, Dip. NB, PhD, is a motivated medical educator, mentor, innovator, and researcher, held in high esteem. He is currently the Head of Department, ENT, Head, and Neck Surgery at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute. Previously, he had served with distinction in the Army Medical Corps. His contributions in the field of laryngotracheal stenosis are commendable. Besides, managing a large number of patients successfully, he has done extensive research in this field. His innovative approach led to the development of an indigenous laryngotracheal stent, which was granted an Indian patent in 2015. His research work and publications have earned global recognition, particularly his publication in “Auris Nasus Larynx,” which garnered over 40 citations in 2016.; Dr Shiva Priya J., MS, a brilliant, hardworking ENT professional who completed her postgraduation in ENT from the prestigious Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research with a meritorious record of winning two gold medals for academic excellence. She is currently serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of ENT, Head, and Neck Surgery at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu. She continued her quest for professional excellence by publishing 15 articles in reputed journals and winning medals in conference presentations. She has contributed chapters in two textbooks.
